CMMI – Process Appraisal and Improvement
CSL's standard approach to the assessment and improvement of processes related to the development, acquisition and operation of safety-critical products and systems is based on the well known CMMI® model and its +SAFE extension developed by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. The model will be tailored according to ISO 15504 (SPICE) to match the current needs and experience of your organization and adapted to accommodate other process models and/or safety and quality standards that may be applicable for your specific circumstances.
If you are an experienced software development or acquisition organization but have limited or no experience with safety critical systems
CSL will enable your engineering and management teams to efficiently evolve their current processes in order to be compliant with industry best practices and stringent standards required for the development and acquisition of safety critical products.
CSL will work with you to:
Identify and recommend the most efficient strategy for addressing any gaps that we identify in your processes with regards to those standards
Help you plan, develop, roll-out and maintain those new processes
If you are an engineering or acquisition organization experienced with safety critical systems and need to address a particular aspect of your organizational processes or implement a new safety standard
CSL's holistic approach based on industry best practices with years of experience will provide you with:
First hand knowledge about new trends and developments in process and safety standards, tools and industry best practices
Our experience from the automotive, medical, defense, transportation and aerospace domains and different type of organizations (engineering, acquisition, service)
If you are perhaps preparing for a process appraisal or certification of your organization to comply with CMMI or some other process or safety standard
CSL will help you with:
Interpretation and mapping of your organizational processes to the requirements of those selected process model(s) and standards
Identification of suitable process evidence and an appropriate strategy for the collection and presentation of this evidence to the appraisal team
